Hello everyone. I’m not sure how many of you knew/remembered but yesterday was 9/11. For those of you who don’t know about 9/11, I will tell you a little of the story.
On September 11th, 2001, the World Trade Center (Twin Towers) was destroyed by terrorists. This was the worst terror attack to ever happen to America. There were four planes in total scheduled to attack something.
The first plane hit the one of the Twin Towers. The only video recording we have of this is a person video taping a speech/rally that was going on and all of a sudden, we hear a plane flying very close. The videographer turns his camera right as the plane hits the tower.
The second plane come in a few minutes later and hits the second of the twin towers.
The third plane crashed into the Pentagon.
We don’t know what the fourth plane was scheduled to hit because the plane went down in a field. What happened was, the plane was hijacked by the terrorists. The people on the plane saw this and heard what had been going on. They then, hijacked the plane back the flew it into a field so that it could not reach it’s intended destination. Those brave Americans gave up their lives to save the others.
While this was going on, President Bush was presenting at a school. When the twin towers were hit, they quickly whisked him away and held him safely up on a plane in the air until they were sure it was safe. He than helped America get back upon her feet.
As Americas, it is our duty not to forget those who have given their lives so that we might live in freedom. I hope that you will take time this 9/11 (even though it already happened so 9/12) to remember what happened to us as a country, to remember those Americans who died that day, and to remember those brave Americans who are still dying for us today.
