May the 4th

Good morning all! It’s finally Friday! I love how the weather has progressively gotten nicer as the week has gone on. (At least, here were we are.) We have our 1st Singing in the Rain show tonight so super exited for that!

I don’t know how many of you knew this but yesterday was May 4th, otherwise know as international Star Wars day!

Get it, May 4th, may the 4th…. Anyways, today I thought it would fun (at least for all those Star Wars fans out there-me included) to post some Star Wars trivia that you may, or may not already know!

All these were knew facts to me! (Sorry if these picture are super tiny) I hope that ya’ll enjoyed these! Did you also know that yesterday was May the 4th, but today is Revenge of the 5th?

I like that! ūüôā Well, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and get to enjoy this wonderful weather!

Singing in the Rain!

Good afternoon everyone! First off, sorry this post is so late. I ran this morning and than went to work and just got back now. It totally slipped my mind to put this post out. Anyways, today is the start of our Singing in the Rain dress rehearsals!

I’m super pumped to preform this show. We have dress rehearsal today and tomorrow and than Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we preform 3 shows. This semester has been so much fun, especially learning to tap dance! I’m sad that it’s coming to an end but we’re not there yet. We sill have got these shows! I wanted to share with ya’ll a few promotional¬†pictures of the cast.

We’ve got (left to right) Cosmo, Kathy, and Don. They actually had someone spraying a hose on them. It was already a cold day and they got pretty cold doing this part of the shoot.

This picture is one of my favorites. This is actually the other cast’s Don and Kathy but it is still an amazing capture.

For those of you who haven’t seen Singing in the Rain (on stage or the movie) I would highly recommend it. It is a fantastic show and the tap dancing in the movie is phenomenal! Wish us luck with all of our dress rehearsals!¬† ūüôā

Happy Birthday Mom!

Good morning everyone! I don’t know what the weather has been like where you are but where we were for the tournament and even now back at home it has just been rain, rain, rain! I guess April was trying to get the last of its showers in before we get to the May flowers.

We just got back from the regional¬†tournament yesterday, actually¬†just in time to be able to see the other¬†cast of¬†Singing in the Rain preform. (More on that later this week.) But I have a special announcement to make today, yesterday was my mother’s birthday!!!!

Dear mom, you have always been so special to me. Thank you so, so much for all you sacrifice for our family. You are always there for us and always making sacrifices even when you don’t feel well or would want to do something else. Thank you for your incredible heart. You have been my model of a wonderful, talented mother and I wouldn’t trade you for the world! Thank you and I hope you have a happy birthday!

Regional Speech and Debate!!!

Good early Wednesday morning ya’ll! I hope you are enjoying your week as much as I am! It has been so nice being able to drive, let me tell ya. We (Chichi and I) started our first day of our summer job yesterday at a little ice-cream shop and that was really fun.

Well, today we are leaving for our regional speech and debate tournament. This one starts today and will go until Saturday; we’ll drive back on Sunday. I am blessed to be taking all 3 of my speeches I was competing in to this regional tournament and that is super exiting for me. I know that this is kind of a ‘regionals season’¬†for a whole bunch of different activities and so I wanted to give ya’ll¬†two main¬†tips for any of your¬†activities¬†going to¬†regionals.

The first one I have is to practice as if you were going to nationals. This one is a little challenging but very vital. If you practice as if you were going to nationals, than your speeches (or whatever you are doing) will be that much better! You will have probably had more practice and so you will be much more in tune with what you are doing. I know that for some of you, regionals was your goal for this year and I totally understand that. However, now that you’ve gotten to this level, there is totally a chance that you could make it to nationals if you put in the work!

My other tip is just to have fun and to¬†preform to the best of your abilities. I know that this can be stressful and you are like, I have to preform perfectly; each of these performances count; I can’t mess up;¬†ect! While those things may be true, thinking about them, especially when you are performing, just makes your performance all worse because you are nervous and not totally into whatever you are doing. So, just have fun! All the practice will pay off and if you have fun, you will feel more at ease and your performance will be that much better!

I hope that those tips help you guys! Comment below if you are heading to regionals/nationals in something that you compete in, I always love hearing about those things. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week!

A License To Drive?

Good morning everyone! First off, I don’t know¬†what the¬†weather’s¬†been like where you live, but¬†here we have just had rain, rain, rain! Well,¬†today, the sunshine has come back out. The grass is soooo green and the trees are bursting with buds! April showers really do¬†bring late¬†April flowers (and May ones too). Well, it’s Friday but also April 21st which means that it is my brother’s birthday today!

Sweet Sixteen

Hello everyone! How are you all doing? Surviving to the middle of the week? I don’t know about all of ya’ll’s schools but I only have a few more weeks left of school! Because I’m homeschooled, I will be doing math as well as a few other subjects through the summer but otherwise, this is it. We’re in the final countdown. Of course, at the end of the year comes the big exams, covering everything we’ve learned about in the course. ūüėõ Oh well!

Well, today is my sweet 16th birthday. I was thinking about not posting about it, but I thought I should. Just to tell you all where I’ve been and where I’m heading as a person. But before I do that, I just wanted to thank my wonderful sibblings. They got up about an hour before I was planning to wake up and they surprised me with breakfast, balloons, and¬†a few small gifts! It was so sweet so thank you guys! ‚̧

At this stage in my life, I’m on my last two/three years of high school, already thinking about college and beyond. To be totally honest, I’m at that point where I’m basically like, ‘there are way too many life decisions to be made!’ Also, my life seems to have gotten very monotonous. Every Monday I get up and¬†I’m like, ‘oh here we go to another week, the same old thing.’ I have kind of gotten discouraged. I feel like my life has become very much the same, the same, the same. In the school year, I like it because I am busy (but then of course, it gets very monotonous).¬†Then when summer comes around, I get pretty board because¬†I don’t have anything to do (I mean, not that really keeps me busy, and I like being busy). This year, I’ve gotten a job which is really nice, I run, I garden, and I tan and those are basically my summer “things-to-do”.

I have really been thinking like, what is the purpose I want to get out of this life? I need to do something with this life that the Lord has given me. He has put me here for a reason and I need to act on it. The conclusion I’ve come to is¬†that the way to make life something worth living is to go out and do! I want to be able to be daring; to¬†step out in faith and go places and do things worth something in the long run. I was reading in Ecclesiastes and Solomon is like basically saying, what is your life because, even if you are the wisest man alive¬†and¬†you create something glorious and big, you will die and whoever is next will take up your work. Who knows if they will be wise and what they will do with what you so hardly worked at? When I am walking in faith and doing what God wants for me, I just have to do my part and He will complete the rest. And you know the best part? If we are walking in His will, He will give you life and life to the fullest! ūüôā

I have decided that I am ready to take the life’s challenges-driver’s license; getting a job; making my own name, not with my family’s; finding my own purpose. As one of my friends said, “When life throws you lemons, throw them back!”

I’ve been scared to take the next college steps, afraid to leave home; afraid to go out on my own; to survive on my own pay checks; to go to college, to have to work super hard at a job and on my grades so that I can earn a degree for my money’s worth; scared that I’ll fall into not knowing what to do with myself.

I know that, at the end of the day, I¬†am going¬†to Heaven and when I get there, I want¬†God¬†to¬†say to me, “Well done My good and faithful servant.” I want to go out and serve Christ; take the steps of faith outside my comfort zone and go live for Him, telling His good news throughout the world because that is what my purpose is.

For now, I’ve made the commitment to work hard at my studies. Sometimes I feel like just giving up and winging that biology test because, really, who cares about the 4 sections of a root and how to classify leaves. But I’ve come to realize that that really (at least for me) that¬†isn’t the point. The point is to work hard at it; persevere and get a good grade and then, when it comes to classes and grades that matter, you will already know how to do it! I’ve also made the commitment to become a more flexible person. To be spontaneous and do things, even when I wasn’t originally planning on them. That’s what’s going to happen when I step out in faith to God, right? The unexpected?¬† I’ve also committed¬† to work hard at my jobs and take the opportunities to work so that first up I can start saving money, but most importantly, so that I can gain experience and I can do the best I can do. Really, doing the best you can do is what the Lord asks of you. You do your best, and the Lord will take care of the rest. But, if you aren’t doing your part, how can He do His and bless you whatever way He sees fit?

These are the things I have learned and committed myself to. I know it won’t be easy, but it is worth working towards because the goal at the end of the day is ultimately to become closer to God and to share His love to others. I want to be the best I can be and¬†there is no time¬†better to start than the present!
